Toronto went on to roll to a 3-0 victory, advancing to set up an all-Canadian final against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night. A little weird for that broadcast to be on ESPN3, since I believe ESPN3 is not available in Canada, but they've been the most consistent teams in the tournament. In the second game, Swedish club Hacken needed to win 3-0 to force a coin toss and 4-0 to advance ahead of FC Dallas. But forward Majeed Waris was denied on several breakaways, leaving the final score only 2-0 and sending Dallas (which fielded a reserve team in today's opener) to the third-place game against its in-state rival, the Houston Dynamo.
It was a little sticky and buggy tonight, and I think everybody was a little bit crazy doing their sixth game in seven days, but we had fun on the broadcasts and the tourney finished on a positive notes for the live MLSsoccer.com coverage.
